Harmonious Breathing has as its central purpose the rediscovery of the beauty and importance of breathing well in our everyday lives. It serves to clear the mind, restore vigor to the body, and harmonize the emotions.
This practice was sourced from Fabio Andrico’s long practice and understanding of Yantra Yoga. In his teaching he devised a number of breath-based exercises to prepare the student for Yantra Yoga, where working with the breath is fundamental. Over the years he developed it to become a stand-alone practice that can be adapted to suit all people. Fabio has put together a means of being present with the breath in a very accessible way.
In this workshop we practice breath awareness through movement and more static postures. Then using safe, breath-specific exercises, we gain the experience of the pathways the breath can take. In so doing we enhance the fluidity and underlying harmony of the respiration.
This is an embodied practice. The exercises involve several simple body postures. Those designed while seated are offered both for those comfortable with sitting on the floor, and those who prefer to sit in a chair. All skill levels are welcome.
